LMT and ASSM, uniform size or autoallocate

We have recently upgraded a db from 8174 to 10.2.0.2. As part of the upgrade we created new tablespaces with LMT and ASSM using uniform size 128K. Tables and indexes moved to the new tablespaces using 'alter' command. I noticed now that some of the tables and indexes have extents run up to 30000. Some of the articles I have read saying autoallocate should be used instead of uniform size. Can someone please give some advise on this topic please?
