Little Red Asterisk

I'd like to have a Little Red Asterisk in the Region Footer. I have a region where I place some bold black text ("Region Footer Message") in the footer. And I uploaded an asterisk png image which I placed on the region. However, the image location defaults to the top left while I would like it in the lower left. Or better yet, if I could control the asterisk's position in the text string in the region footer.
