Listener refused the connection with the following error: ORA - 12505, TNS:listener does not current

My connection to this particular database was working fine until a reboot of the host PC. Since then I cannot get into the database connection at all. I get the following error:

Listener refused the connection with the following error: ORA - 12505, TNS:listener does not currently know of SID given in connect descriptor

Does anyone know what I can do to get this connection working again?
