Listener - Process

2728148Aug 16 2017 — edited Aug 16 2017

Hi everyone !

The serveur on wich im working is a linux with v11.2.0.2.0 oracle.

Im wondering how work the process creation around listeners, cause i realize that a listener's process create some childs when request are mades, but i found also independant process that run a second or less (as the childs processes), but they have a different PID so they have no relationship with the real listener's process, so im wondering what they are, why they have no relationship with the original listener's process althought they are identical (from ps -eaf) except for the PID and the runtime.

Example :

oracle    6328     1  0 Jul04 ?        00:04:21 /software/oracle/product/11.2/db/bin/tnslsnr LISTENER -inherit

oracle    7622     1  0 01:49 ?        00:00:00 /software/oracle/product/11.2/db/bin/tnslsnr LISTENER -inherit

Is that just a normal behavior from the kernel ? Or something is going wrong ?

I found nothing about this on the official documentation

Thanks for all and have a good day !
