Listener Port

Hi All,

I have installed Oracle 11gR2 (Software) on Linux on Vmware. Before creating the database I used NETCA to configure the listener. But getting the following error message;

" Use another port number. The information provided is used by another software ". I am using port 1521.

I have another installed Oracle 10gR2 on Linux version on another vmware guest but currently stopped.

Now my question is ;

1. Even if the port no 1521 is not used currently, is it blocked .

2. I am trying port no. 1522, 1523..but all giving the same error. What is the range of port no. to be used

3. So what is the workaround in this case.
