I know this question is Linux related, but wanted to share a Windows problem I just recovered from involving a large listener.log file.
my database quit accepting remote connections when the listener.log file reach approx. 4GB size.
this unfortunately brought all of my apps to their knees.
took a while to figure out the size of the listener.log file was the culprit. I guess it would not make any more entries and thus killed
any connections attempted.
I simply shut instance down, deleted listener.log and restarted and all was well.
I have been looking for information on how to control what is written to this file so as to not make it grow so big.
anyone have any ideas?
