Linux Based NFS in a RAC and ASM Environment

Michael8773May 3 2018 — edited May 7 2018

Hello,

We have one Oracle 12.x RAC environment where we would like to use Linux 7.x based NFS (4.x).  The Linux RAC nodes would be NFS clients in this case. We do not want to use NFS for any Oracle ASM based files (GRID, DATA, FRA etc.).   We want to mount a LINUX based NFS path for use by all nodes for files such as: scripts, RMAN, exports.  We do not want to use ACFS.

Q:

Given the above, are there any major issues or special considerations in implementing NFS via LINUX (not via ASM) for nodes that are part of a RAC and\or use ASM?

We simply want to ensure if we use NFS via Linux that it will not interfere with RAC or ASM in any way.

Thanks for your advice,

Michael
