Line Chart with Date on the X axis - How to change the scale?

Hi,

I have a line chart which plots the elapsed time of a job (minutes) against the date a job ran (only one series). Fairly simple stuff!

If I run for a date range of say 30 days, the chart is nice and readable, but if I want to plot for say 90 days, the X scale plots every single date and makes it unreadable. Therefore, what I would like to do is just print every 7 days (but still plot the value for the day).

i.e.
Instead of:

01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21

Just print

01 07 14 21

The data I have doesn't always have values for every day, therefore it may be something 01,02,05,06,07,08,09,11 etc. I'm not really fussed which values it shows - just maybe print the date that belongs to every 7th value.

I thought the X-Axis gridline spacing would do this, but it doesn't seem to make a difference (auto or manual).

Also, the X-axis values are printed at a slight angle (about 30 degrees or more) - is it possible to change these?

I'm using apex 2.2
