Licensing in AIX

j_DBA_souravMay 17 2018 — edited May 19 2018

Hello All,

If I am using core based licensing for Oracle database Enterprise editition, for AIX what should I consider the systems CPU count for corefactoring.

For AIX P5 and p7 series the core factor is 1.

My machine though has entitled capacity of 1 CPU but when I do search on lpar level I get below CPU information. I have SMT enabled as 2 .

>lparstat -i | grep CPU

Online Virtual CPUs                            : 3

Maximum Virtual CPUs                       : 64

Minimum Virtual CPUs                        : 1

Maximum Physical CPUs in system    : 64

Active Physical CPUs in system          : 56

Active CPUs in Pool                             : 56

Shared Physical CPUs in system         : 56

Physical CPU Percentage                    : 33.33%

Desired Virtual CPUs                           : 3

>lparstat

System configuration: type=Shared mode=Uncapped smt=On lcpu=6 mem=45056 psize=56 ent=1.00

Thanks
