licensing - failover

Hi,

We have a local SAN and a remote SAN with EMC.

in order to avoid remote mirroring licencing ( on both ends) I am trying to setup my servers in such a way that we have Failover cluster configured, so we only need 1 licence ( in case the disaster site is only open max 10 days per year).

On what levels can we setup this failover? Can this be an RMAN backup, hardware , software ( a disk image other then the mirror?) ? We do not use RAC, only standalone EE 11G.
