Level and Time Dimension setup

brenda_strongFeb 9 2024 — edited Feb 9 2024

So I thought I knew what I was doing here, but something is still not right.

The Amount dimension is for the group levels. Do I need to put my calculations for those levels in there from the fact table? Do I make copies of the sum(amount) for example for each of the levels?

The Calendar dimension is for time and keys on the date posted column. The consistency check says I need a Chronological Key for my time dimension but I can't figure out how to do that. Actually I don't understand how I'm going to use this time dimension either, but I figured if I got it set up I would figure it out. But I'm stuck here.

Edit: I have figured out that I should not have set it as a time dimension because I only want to use it for levels. I am not using ago or rolling period calculations.

But, I am still having issues, don't know where to put the calculations, and can't figure out how to calculate the number of elements for the level. What elements? What am I supposed to be counting?
