Length of Encrypted data in RSA

hi,
ve been trying out RSA to encrypt a byte array of some pre-fixed max length.I want the encrypted
output not to exceed a maximum length,say 40 characters.
Is there any mechanish when using RSA algo by which i can retrict the encrypted data length..?
