Length of Column Name in Logical Model vs Length in Relational Model

NualaJan 11 2017 — edited Jan 17 2017

Hi All,

I'm using version 4.2 of the Modeler tool and am very new to it so apologies if this has been answered already but I can not find the answer to it.

I'm wanting to use the Logical model with the business users so have put in column names that they can read - the issue is that some of these are longer than 30 characters.

Then when I go to generate the DDL I get errors due to the length of the column name.

Is there a way of (similar to the display synonym name for the entities) where a column can have a name that is displayed in the logical model that is more English like and then an actual column name associated to it which is what gets included in the DLL and other non logical diagrams?

TIA,

N.
