ldapmodify large group - Can't contact LDAP server.

807573Dec 17 2002 — edited Dec 17 2002
I have a some fairly large o's (200k people) that I've imported already using ldapmodify. I would now like to add a large group (180k) to that same orginization under Groups. This large group is in an ldif file by itself. All of my other smaller groups (some as large as 10k) along with the 200k people have been imported sucessfully with the ldapmodify. All of which were in a single ldif file.

Using the same ldapmodify command that I used to import the other People and Groups. I'm getting the following error = ldap_add: Can't contact LDAP server, ldif_error()=81.

I've tried changing nsIdleTimeout=0 in a number places. I'd now like to try changing maxbersize but I cannot find that attribute in the Directory Server console. I'm hesitant to edit dse.ldif, but I'm about at that point.

I've also tried ldif2db but I get this error= Unable to import the database because it is being used by another slapd process. I tried stopping the server but that killed my telnet connection.

I'm using iPlanet version 5.1 on a Linux machine. I'm doing all of these ldapmodify's as root.

Thanks for any help and Happy Holidays.
