ldap_search: Bad search filter on OID user search

I am able to find the users from OID admin console, when i am trying to search using ldapsearch i am getiing Bad seach filter, i am new to OID.

#/u01/Middleware/Oracle_IDM1/bin/ldapsearch -h oam.reg.com -p 3060 -D "cn=orcladmin" -w xxxxx -s subtree -b "sso1" uid
ldap_search: Bad search filter
[oid@oam ~]$
