Ok, I believe Oracle is a great company that makes great products.
I have to ask myself this when I come to silly problems in reports designer.
Now, I have a report that is built to a .pdf file. But when I am developing it, I just run it in the screen. It is now 5 pages long, with boxes, lines, frames, repeating frames and such. There is a section on page 4 that I have to move to page 5 because sometimes there will be too many records to fit on page 4 (there is something else on page 4 as well). So I moved it all down and the report designer creates a page 2 (in the viewer, like record 2) but its just 1 record. It places the main record that is on page 1, on this page 2, and then it has the last page of the report following it. It have no Report title or page number on this page 2. It just spits out the titles and fields and then spits out the last page of the report. Why is it doing this? I have crossed no lines, I kept everything in order. This makes no sense.
I then tried doing it in different ways. I have two main frames surrounding the whole report. So I took flex off, moved them down to be surrounding all 6 pages. Then moved page 5 down to page 6 , leaving page 5 blank. Then I run it, just to test it and see what it will do. Well it does the exact same thing. Making like a new record (page 2 in the viewer). What kind of software acts in a way you can't possible understand? And to boot, it doesn't even try to help you by telling you what is wrong. This is reports designer 9i 9.0.2.1.1 version.
Any help would be deeply appreciated!
Thanks
