It seems that the jre 7 installer available on http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/java-se-jre-7-download-432155.html that is the page for "Java SE Runtime Environment 7 Downloads" doesnot contain the latest update 25. for that purpose, I had to go to java.com and find out the appropriate file.
OS: WinXP.
