Lates JRE Update Quick Question on ssv.dll

843804Aug 25 2006
Hi,

On Windows XP just did the auto-update for the latest JRE. I have SpySweeper on my sys and towards the end of the install SS popped up with the message to allow or not allow the BHO (browser helper object) ssv.dll to install. I accidently clicked Don't Allow instead of Allow so it blocked it, but then the same box popped up and I clicked it correctly and allowed it ok. I'm pretty sure it was for the same ssv.dll again.

I use Firefox as my browser and Java seems to be working fine.

So were those separate ssv.dll installation instances one for Explorer and one for Firefox? Did I mess up one for Explorer by the accidental blocking on the first attempt to install? Or was that Java just trying to install again after being blocked the first time you think?

It seems like it just repeated the install after the first block and then was ok after I accepted it on the 2nd, but just want to be sure I didn't miss installing something from the first declined attempt.

Thanks!
