Latch free and log file sync wait event

Hi All,

I am having 9.2.0.6.0. database .Currently i am working on it's tuning.
I saw many users are waiting for "latch free" and "log file sync" event by using following command .

"select * from V$session_event"

any suggestion ...how can i rid from it.
