large file backup to tape(dat72 and lto2)

Hi all,

We are in closing of some large databases and have taken the final backups. now we are moving the backup pieces in to tapes. we are failing with the commands pax and tar as each file size exceeded 8gb.(its around 30 to 35gb each). Pls give us good backup command to take these backup pieces to tapes. we compress all these file with native compress tool "compress".

OS: IBM AIX5.3
