kswapd causing cpu spin on big RAM/SMP machines?

We have two RHEL 2.1 systems seriously crippled by kswapd using 100% cpu at times.

Anyone else seeing this, with Oracle-based or other apps on kernel 2.4-based operating systems?

Solutions? (other than waiting for Oracle to support systems with 2.6 kernel)
