Kernel Parameter “ip_local_port_range” in the “/etc/sysctl.conf” when installing EM Cloud Control 12

user528299Jun 28 2017 — edited Jun 28 2017

In the documentation file “Oracle Database Quick Installation Guide 12c Release 1 (12.1) for Linux x86-64 E54543-09 August 2016”=>” E54543-09.pdf” on page 22 is written that “ip_local_port_range”  should be “net.ipv4.ip_local_port_range = 9000 65500”. From other point in the documentation file “Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control Basic Installation Guide 12c Release 5 (12.1.0.5) E22624-47”=> “E22624-47.pdf” on page 41 is written that “ip_local_port_range” should be “net.ipv4.ip_local_port_range = 11000 65500”. That would not be a problem if OMS and DB Repository are on different machines, but I would like Repository database to be on the same machine as Oracle Management Service (OMS).

So what range to set for “ip_local_port_range” if the Repository database is on the same machine as Oracle Management Service (OMS) ?

Thanks’ in advance for your help.
