kernel: nfs server <server> not responding, still trying

I got this message on my VM Host Server, which hosts VM Guests. When this message occured, all the VM machine hosted on the server from the NFS share were not accessible. In VM manager all the guest machines status went to "Unknown".

Can anybody just highlight why this error comes, and what is the root cause for this message to occur. Is it NFS service issue, storage issue or Network issue? I would really appreciate if some one answers my query. Do let me know if some one needs more detail on the error.
