JTabbedPane - mouse listener on the tabs?

Does anyone know how I can set a mouselistener on the tabs of a JTabbedPane so that I can access when a mouse enters / exits a tab?

Also, does anyone know how I can set a maximum width for a tab?

I've been searching for the answer for both of these for quite some time and just wondered if anyone knew?
