jsplitpane and jpanel

Hi

I am new to Java Swing and therefore ADF Swing.   Therefore, this may sound like a basic question.

I have created a swing empty form.  Is it possible to have a parent-child relationship between jsplitpane and containers?

For e.g.  the design is - the left site on jsplitpane will house a jtree component, and right side of jsplitpane will have a jtabbedPane container.

how do I achieve above.. please advise.
