JRun versus Weblogic
843829Jul 10 2001 — edited Jul 25 2001Hi,
I have downloaded evaluation copies of both JRun and BEAweblogic6.1 today. I was particularly impressed with JRun apart from the fact I cannot get it to run on WIN98, but windows2000 it looks good. I like the tutorials and general look of the overviews.
The BEA WebLogic was good, but more a list of APIs rather than any decent strength in learning tutorials (I noticed that most of the demos only included class files rather than the sourcecode - perhaps I did not look long and hard enough).
The question is, do you out there (yes you lot!) have any seriious recommendations for a decent J2EE EJB server for degree and Masters students to learn on?
I'll even throw in ten Dukes points for good answers.
Any help welcomed. Just plain comments are also welcome.
