JMS as backbone to high volume batch architecture

843830Aug 2 2005 — edited Aug 8 2005
Hi,

we are looking at the possibility of building a custom J2EE architecture that would need to process approximately 6000 tps for a short period (batch window) -- the alternative is a C++ app.

Is it possible to use JMS as the messaging between the various nodes of the system - that perform different key business logic rules on the incoming data through the pipeline - and still meet the TPS?

I've read that SonicMQ and FioranoMQ can handle around 20k MPS, which would roughly translate to our requirement of 6000 TPS with a message payload of approximately 1k.

Obviously the existing Messaging Volumetrics out there are scaring us, including the fact that we are having a hard time finding any references on the web of people using JMS at these volumes (or even J2EE overall!)

Can anyone advise or help on the matter?

Thx
