Jinitiator - Multiple versions necessary?

In our environment there are several Oracle Forms custom applications that our users need access to. Unfortunatly, there are so many, that nobody seems to have a clear list as to what they are, let alone what versions of the Jinitiator they are based on.

So my question is, if a new user were to join our company tomorrow and get a new computer, would they need multiple JInitiators installed on their workstation for compatibility with all the servers? Or can we just deliver the latest version and rely on it to be backwards compatible with most forms?
