Java3D alternatives

To all,

I would like to know other open source API other than Java3D.
Currently, I've found Xith3D and LWJGL are both quite hot (I got lots of hits for them on Google)

But actually which is better ?? I don't understand what's their difference either !?
Maybe there are other APIs as well...
