Java Stored Procedures Vs PL/SQL Performance

Hi,
I try to find in Oracle 9i documentation any tests or statement regarding performance of JAVA Stored Procedures versus PL/SQL dealing with big volumes of data (I mean several GB of information).

I believe that PL/SQL in the situation described still faster but, am I correct?
