Java_home

user6579170Apr 21 2017 — edited Apr 24 2017

We have oracle 11g database server on a windows box and it uses its own internal java jdk 1.6 I believe. We also have the java_home variable and it's set to JAVA_HOME=e:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jdk1.6.0_21 Now we want to update to java 1.8 on this server to accommodate another software package, and set the Java_home to this newer version on this server. I'd just like someone to confirm, Oracle uses it's own java version in it's own home directory or under it's home directory, and won't be affected in any way if we set the JAVA_HOME to an updated java jdk install (1.8)? Many Thanks Dan
