java.exe "missing", but it's there..

Hello. A little while back i came across this problem with the java.exe file. I did manage to solve the problem (i did something in the registry), but now that the problem has reappeared, I forgot what I did to solve it. The problem is that all java.exe files in my hard disk have disappeared. I tried reinstalling the jdk and jre but to no use. The strange thing is that whenever I uninstall the packages, all the folders that were supposed to contain the java.exe file remain on the hard disk, and if i try to delete the folders i get an error message that the folders cannot be deleted because they are not empty, even though if I open them I can see that nothing is in there and the status bar confirms it by saying that there are 0 objects inside the folder. I have also used the Unlocker software to see if there are any software handdles that use those folders but none have come up.

Another thing is that if i log in in safe mode i can see the files and delete them, but when i install the jdk and jre the problem remains. I remember that last time I changed something in the registry and the problem was fixed but it took me like 4 days to find the solution. I use a few registry cleaners so I'm suspecting that they might have something to do with it. Maybe they removed a registry key that was important to java. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
