Java Development in Oracle IdM stack

I'm very new to Oracle IdM stack and IdM as a whole. I would like to know what core Java skills are required to implement an Oracle IdM solution? What would be the basic skill set needed ? XML, JDBC, Servlets ? Any EJB ? Any ORM layers such as Hibernate ?

This would probably apply to building resource adapters or using the Oracle IdM APIs etc.
