Java - beauty & the beast

Java is exotic and bull$it..*

i am not sorry to say this.. I was looking to host my website about java by providing code sample on the basics of java(servlets/jsp) and help my friends understand better by letting them run these programs online. but this shared JVM hosing ruins my life! you cannot restart the shared JVM nor the Tomcat server as you wish... this is making me think twice before jumping into web programming for java... java seems to be good only for the pro's.. I keep wondering if sun is making any initiative on making this as flexible as the PHP/perl/blah blah!! :(

wut is the point when you can't show off to your friends on wut you can do?? so this summer i'm goin 2 get a little dirty with asp .net... i know it doesnot provide something like javamail to abstract the entire mailing protocols but pop3 and smtp will do for me for now and i will sit back and hope to get some thing like java mail for .net pl.. :)

I am also considering doing a .net certification ( along with sun java certification - how can i leave my love :))

Please throw in your opinions .. would like to hear you hating me :( :)
