Java applet load from https, says certificate not trusted.
843807Jun 25 2003 — edited Jan 17 2004When trying to load the applet from https://gammongame.dk/applet.php?room=free&size=1 the java plugin says that the certificate is not trusted, allthough the browser has no problems with it (tested in mozilla and internet explorer with jre 1.4.1).
How can this be? and is there any way I can make sure that people do not get this error?
When looking in the java console, I can see that it tries to match the certificate, but it fails.
The certificate is trusted, and accepted by the browser, and now I wonder why java does not like it. (It is a RC4 128 bit certificate)
I have two possible reasons for the failure, but no real solution.
1. The root certificate (GlobalSign Root CA) is not included in the cacerts file that came with java. (why is this, and how is it corrected?)
2. The applet is not a signed applet. Does it have to be that?
Hope there is someone who can help me?
