Java 11 (or newer) in Solaris 11.4.x on x64

Steffen MoserMay 17 2019 — edited Jun 19 2019

Hi all,

I've got a question regarding the version of the Java Development Kit (JDK) which is available in Solaris 11.4 (SRU 8): As far as I can see, the most recent package available is pkg:/developer/java/jdk-8@1.8.0.201.9. Are there any newer versions? For Solaris SPARC, one can also find version 11 of Oracle JDK here. I am very well aware of the change of the licensing conditions which took place after the release of Java 8. But so far, I neither find a more recent version of OracleJDK for testing and development purpose nor an OpenJDK build for Solaris 11.4 x64.

Does anybody know if there are plans to offer it? I currently need to test Apereo CAS 6.0.4 which needs JDK 11 and won't run with JDK 8. Is there a commercially supported OracleJDK 11 (or newer) for Solaris x64 available?

Thank you very much in advance for any help!

Kind regards,

Steffen
