Java 1.6 and 1.7 plugins compatibility with Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard Edition

1219046Feb 25 2014

Hi,

I recently installed a Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard Edition.

From this server, I need to access several GUIs using  IE or Firefox, and these GUIs require the java plugin to be correctly installed.

So I installed java via the java website (online method). When the installation is completed (even after reboot), it seems that the java plugin is not correctly installed as I cannot display correctly the java test page.

I can run java applications when they are not embedded in IE/Firefox.

In the java control panel :

   - all java settings are set to the minimum security level

   - the java content is enabled in the browser.

Did any one manage to install java plugin and to display the java test page from a Windows Server 2012 R2 ?

If it's possible, is there any trick to make it work properly ? Or am I simply dumb ?

Cheers.
