J2SDK-1_4_0-win install - remote procedure call failure

Whenever I try to install the J2 SDK 1.4 on Windows XP, it just does nothing. It just hangs there waiting for something that never happens. So I end the installation task (it will not cancel, it has to be forced) and a few moments later get a message saying that the remote procedure call failed.

I tried downloading another installer, but that one didn't work either.

Ideas? What am I doing wrong?
