Java Development Tools

hi,

I and some of my friends have chosen "J2ME City Navigator" for our final year project in engineering, something on the lines of Google Maps but which runs on a mobile phone.

We are finding it difficult visualizing the entire project ie. we arent sure about whre to store the maps, in what format,what kind of server to use and how to serve the request of the customer as he scrolls up and down etc. In short v are quite clueless.

I gues v have bitten more than v can chew, but v have about 6 months to develop this. It would be extremely helpful if some1 cud give us a nudge in the right direction and tell us how to go about it.
