J2EE over PHP

843838Mar 27 2006 — edited Apr 11 2006
I want to change from Cold Fusion MX to J2EE but I also have resistance to use PHP instead of J2EE as a choice.
We have Unix an Windows web servers.

Please advise advantages of JSP,Servlets over PHP.

I know both PHP and J2EE are free. Probably going to use JBoss container or Tomcat container with J2EE. J2EE seems to have better Security management and session management? What other features of J2EE that I can provide over PHP?

Since MX is Java based I assume my transfer from Cold Fusion to J2EE will be another advantage with Java over PHP?
