ITL confusion

OracleGuy777Dec 1 2008 — edited Dec 1 2008
hi guys,

*1)* Say we have an ITL with 5 slots.
T1 wants to update a row in the data block. So it takes up a slot.
Now say T1 wants to update another row in the same data block. Will it take up another slot in the ITL? If so, does this mean that an ITL can theoretically actually be full of one transaction only?

*2)* Also, what does the ITL structure look like?
At http://www.dbazine.com/oracle/or-articles/nanda3 it talks about a linked list with transaction id and row id.
At http://www.orafaq.com/wiki/ITL it talks about ITL storing transaction id and undo segment id.
At http://satheeshbabus.blogspot.com/2006/09/itl.html it talks about transaction id, undo segment id and SCN.

Can someone please clarify this for me?

thanks
