ITL and the number of entries possible in a slot

OracleGuy777Nov 3 2009 — edited Nov 9 2009
hi,

this is my understanding, when a transaction wants to lock a row, it first of all finds a space (if available) in the ITL, put its transaction id in there and the rowid, and then set a flag in the row header. So far, so good.

Now the same transaction wants to lock another row. Would it add the entry to another ITL slot, or would it simply just add another rowid in the same slot that it has?

thanks
