Issues with configuring Hyperion Planning / EPM 11.1.1.3 on Linux

729818Dec 4 2009 — edited Mar 18 2010
Hi everyone.

We're installing and now configuring our development environment for Hyperion Planning 11.1.1.3. We've got Oracle RDBMS on one Linux server running fine, and EPM Foundation (Workspace, Shared Services, Calc Manager), Planning, Web Analysis and Reporting on one Linux server, and Essbase 11.x on a third Linux server.

We successfully installed everything. We are now starting the config process beginning on the application tier server (Foundation, etc.) and everything under the Foundation tier configures OK except for Shared Services.

errors I get when I run the validation.sh include:

Hyperion Foundation
FAILED OPN: OpenLDAP
Error: $item.exception.localizedMessage

FAILED SSO
Error: Could not login to Foundation

Foundation / Calculation Manager
FAILED CFG: Configuration
hubRegistration: Configuration Failed

So it looks like something got messed up with Shared Services but I'm not sure how to proceed.

Also when we finished the installation we closed out the install tool Java window, so when we went to start the configuration we had to re-select an installation option to allow us to move to the Configuration step. Maybe this was part of the root of our problem? I believe I re-selected "Shared Services" individually to re-install.

Thanks in advance!

P.S.: Did I mention how much I hate, hate, hate doing installs/configs? :)
