Issues using dbms_transfer_file - Solaris to Linux

user12020481Jan 21 2016 — edited Jan 28 2016

We're in the process of migrating several TB from Solaris to Linux.

Downtime needs to be minimal - so we explored Doc ID 1389592.1.  It looked to be right up our road.  Copy from ASM to ASM auto-converts Endian...solves lots of issues.

We're able to transfer files less than 4096MB (4GB to be exact) without any issues .  At 4097MB the job either hangs or says a file already exists (and the file does not exist in the destination - we confirmed that in the destination ASM).

So we tested going from Solaris to Solaris and things work fine, but if this was an option we would use Data Guard.  So it was just a confirmation that 8GB is OK.

We've opened a case, but was wondering if anyone is seeing this issue as well.  If so what was a solution.
