Issue with renaming Dashboard

Hi Experts,
i have one strange issue...can anyone help me pls

i have 4 dashboards.. mydashboard, test1, test2,test3..

the test1 dashboard contains 10 reports and that reports contains navigation reports also..

when i renamed the 'test1' dashboard to some other name.. the reports are not displaying...
there i found one check box ' preserve references old name item ' i checked it. and run the dashboard its working fine the reports are coming but my OLD 'test1' dashboard is still appearing..when i try to delete it its not working...

kinldy help me...
