issue with Named Credentials upon agent deployment

Dan ANov 14 2014 — edited Nov 20 2014

Hi Gurus.

Yesterday I deployed an agent on a test host server, and it worked like a charm.

Except that ....

I used the oratest user as the Named Credential...this meant (I believe) that when it came to detecting the various targets on the host to monitor, OEM could only see those that were owned by oratest (could only see oratest database).

This wasnt ideal as there are several databases that I would like to monitor on that server.

So I deinstalled everything and am now trying to deploy an agent again, using this https://docs.oracle.com/cd/E24628_01/install.121/e22624/install_agent.htm#EMBSC184

However, I am now stuck on the selection of a named credential....which user should I choose to do this? Do I need to create a separate, "oem" user to do all this? I am not even sure that choosing the oratest user was a mistake .... I am more than a bit confused and would really appreciate some kindly advice.

Version: 12.1.0.4.0

RHEL 6.5

Thank you,

DA.
