Issue with focus event for ojSelect (v3.1.0)

I recently upgraded my JET project to v.3.1.0 , and now I'm facing issues with the focus event for OjSelect. I'm using knockout binding to bind the click/focus event to a specific function(to show hints/messages).It was working earlier but its not working anymore. Can you please help ?? I also tried to use the 'hasFocus' knockout binding but to no avail.
