Issue with EXP command from 11g to 9i

674757Dec 16 2009 — edited Dec 18 2009
Hello All,

I am trying to export a table from an 11g (11.1.0.7 - tried both, from a 32 bit and 64 bit redhat 5.4 host) which will be imported into an Oracle
9i (9.2.0.7 - 32 bit, redhat 4 server). The export seems to be going ok, aside from an error message that states:

EXP-00079: Data in Table "ccrmreg" is protected. Conventional path may only be exporting partial table."

I could live with that, because I believe I'm getting all the rows I need (But would like to remedy this if possible with your help).

The issue is, when I copy this to the 9i host (redhat 4.0) and run the imp command and accept the default prompts, it generates the follwoing error meesage:

IMP-00010: not a valid export file, header failed verification.
IMP-00000: Import terminated unseccessfully.

I am using the same account or user "CCRMREG" that has dba rights and full import and export database rights. What am I doing wromg here? Do I need to copy the EXP file from my 9i server to my 11g server and run the older version of exp? Also, what would be the best string to use as the exp command for this, versus just running ./exp or ./imp and going with the default prompts?

Thanks all, and have a great holiday season..
