Issue: New GlassFish server requires Java 6 or 7 instead of 8

I sucessfully installed GlassFish Tools 16.3.0.201612160743 as part of OEPE 12.2.1.5 on Eclipse Neon.2. But I cannot add a new server in the dialog:

The dialog claims that Java version 6 or 7 is required. But my system runs only Java 8. You can find the system requirements for the latest OEPE here [1].

There was no issue with Java 8 in the previous version of Eclipse Mars and the older version of the OEPE.

Do you know how to fix this issue?
