iSCSI versus Fiber (Equallogic vs Netapp) - fast enough for Oracle?

Our company is thinking of migrating from primarily local storage and local SAN's to a large SAN environment such as Netapp , EMC, or Equalogic.
It seems that all the vendors are heavily promoting iSCSI as a method of saving money compared to the more traditional fiber channel. I know that Netapp on Fiber Chanell works great with Oracle, but I don't have any experience with iSCSI either from Netapp --- or -- the latest things seems to be Equallogic's iSCSI product that gives you a lot of bang (storage) for your buck.
We are running Oracle 9i using it as part of Apps 11i, our transaction volume is fairly low, but as you know Oracle itself likes fast disks, machines etc. We are currently running Solaris 9 on SPARC but may migrate to RH Linux as part of this. The last thing I want to do is to slow down Oracle using iSCSI -- but is it fast enough for Oracle?
Any experiences, positive or negative -- appreciated.
Thanks, Marvin.
